According to the "Day Spa Association" and the "International Medical Spa Association" a "Dental Spa" is a facility whose dental program is run under the strict supervision of a licensed dentist in which services are provided that integrate both traditional and non-traditional dental and spa treatments. Lorin Berland, DDS, a Texas based cosmetic dentist is generally credited with coining the term "Dental Spa" in 1998. In 2003, The American Dental Association showed that more than 50% of 427 practicing dentists serveyed at their annual session, offered some sort of spa or office amenity 93. Spa dentistry was first introduced in 1978 by the Holistic Dental Association. In 2005, as many as 5% of the American Dental Association's 152,000 plus members had declared themselves as "dental spas". This number is growing daily, not only in the United States but in countries like Korea , Brazil , Finland and others. Some of the pioneer Dental Spas in the world include "Cocosmile" in Helsinki , Finland , "Cosmetic and Biological Dental Spa" in San Clemente , California , USA , "Dental Spa" in Pacific Palisades, California, USA and "Dental Spa" in Seoul , Korea.

Soft music, warm towels, the aroma of lavender or freshly baked bread, perhaps even a hand massage—until recently these items might not be associated with a dental visit. Yet a growing number of dentists say these pampering amenities persuade patients to make and keep appointments and help them stay relaxed during dental procedures.

I relocated to Los Angeles from Connecticut for work about a year ago and was looking for a Los Angeles dentist for a painful toothache I had. It turned out I needed a root canal and crown and I am really glad I found Dr Chaves. He placed a crown in an upper right tooth that blends in with my other teeth and looks and feels totally natural. I chew just as well with it too. I had a crown placed in a lower left tooth a while back by a dentist back home and he was nowhere near as good as Dr Chaves. The metal part of his crown sticks out and is so unsightly that I am thinking of having Dr Chaves replace that tooth as well. I really appreciate how natural looking Dr. Chaves work is.

Dr. Steve Long is my favorite dentist. I feel very comfortable trusting him to do my dental work and always feel good about myself after visiting his office. I highly recommend Dr. Long from Beverly Hills Denitst Center to everybody who values quality of dental work and beautiful smile.

I give Dr Michaels 5 stars. He is very professional, caring and knowledgeable dentist in Canoga Park. Dr Michaels is like an artist works on every detail and make sure that you are 100% satisfied with the outcome. I do highly recommend this doctor and his office for everyone. By the way, they do everything possible in dental field there. I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr Chaves and was very surprised (despite all the scary stories I was told before) that it is so realistic to have them done without any pain and
